Renovations & Extensions, Considered.
Based in Scone, in the Upper Hunter, Egan Building Co. undertakes select renovation and extension projects throughout the Hunter New England region — including Maitland, Newcastle and the Hunter Valley — specialising in Federation, Victorian, Edwardian and Inter-war character homes.
A builder you deal with directly, from the first conversation to handover.
Egan Building Co. is an owner-led residential building company based in the Hunter Valley. We work on a carefully selected number of projects each year — which means clients deal directly with the builder throughout, not a rotating cast of representatives.
As a specialised design and construct builder, we can look after everything — design, planning and approvals, as well as construction — so there's one point of contact for the whole project. Craig acts as your representative throughout, dealing directly with consultants and authorities on your behalf. Our focus is on clear communication, considered planning and genuine craftsmanship.

Period & character homes.
Considered renovations and extensions that respect the architecture and character of the original home while improving it for modern living. Federation and Edwardian homes are where our experience makes the most difference — and larger renovations and extensions to these homes are the projects we're most actively looking to take on.

Character homes, done carefully.
We're particularly drawn to Federation and character-home renovations around Maitland and Lorn — projects where the existing home has something worth respecting.
Explore Character Homes →We're not trying to be the biggest builder in the Hunter. We're trying to be the right one for a smaller number of homes we can give proper attention to.
